Jannuzzi Smith have created a name and identity for a new venture in international sailing. The Star Class is the most popular category of competitive sailing in the world, included in the Olympic Games since 1932. The newly founded Star Sailors League will give the sport increased visibility and ensure that the Star Class remains the premier racing keel boat, primarily though the SSL Grand Slams and SSL Finals events, where significant prizes will attract the top international sailors.

The boats used in the SSL events will be Star boats and will be supplied by the SSL to prevent an “arms race” in the creation of faster and more expensive sailboats, in keeping with the democratic ethos of the class. The identity created by Jannuzzi Smith celebrates the coming together of different individuals from disparate locations, competing with common resources on an equal basis: the spirit that makes the sport what it is today.
