The site assists in-house and external designers with design and brand implementation tasks, and includes: a digital asset management system (including the corporate image library); interactive brand guidelines; design project management and workflow tools; and a suite of applications that automate the production of artwork (e.g. for business cards and in-store posters).
We produced the site as part of our work in optimising Sainsbury’s new brand to ensure successful deployment in digital media (see also 4·2). This involved: writing specifications for on-screen colourways, typography, and images; defining best practice guidelines; and producing a comprehensive set of optimised templates and logotypes. This significantly reduced file sizes while improving rendering, colour consistency and performance, within on-screen and printed media.
