Festival de Cannes promotional book
Cinémathèque suisse’s new digital restoration of the classic Swiss film Die letzte Chance (The Last Chance), directed by Leopold Lindtberg in 1945, will premiere at the Festival de Cannes 2016 as part of the Cannes Classics section, some 70 years after its official selection at the first edition of the event. The restoration was led by the Cinémathèque suisse and Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF), with the support of Memoriav, and the laboratory Hiventy. This is the first time a Swiss film has been presented in the restored classics section of the Festival. The 84pp book, designed and produced by Jannuzzi Smith, is a collection of essays and archival images covering the film’s history, themes and the restoration effort.
